What time is check-in and check-out?You may check in as soon as the rooms or beds are ready, which is usually by 2pm. If you arrive earlier, you are welcome to store your bags in the luggage room and use the common facilities. Check out time is 11am on the day of your departure. What is included in the price?
What methods of payment does Miss Sophie’s accept?You may pay with Czech Koruna, Euro (at our current in-house exchange rate), or by credit card (with a 4% service charge). Can Miss Sophie’s accept payment in Euros or exchange Euros for Czech Koruna?Yes. We use an in-house exchange rate of 25 CZK to 1 EUR (although subject to change). This service is available as long as the receptionist has the currency to do it. Does Miss Sophie’s offer breakfast?No, we do not offer breakfast. However, our receptionists would be happy to point out a great breakfast spot on the map for you if you would like. Or, you are welcome to use our guest kitchen to prepare something and our receptionists can show you some nearby grocery stores on the map as well. How safe and secure is Miss Sophie’s?For the safety of our guests and their belongings, we offer:
*Padlocks for the luggage room or storage boxes can be borrowed for free from reception if you do not already have one. Are the shared dorm rooms mixed-gender?Yes. All of our shared dorm rooms are mixed-gender. We do not offer single-gender dorm rooms. If you wish to stay in a single-gender room, please book a private room. If we are traveling as a small group, can we stay together in the same room?If you wish to stay together with friends it is best to book a private room. If that is not possible then the next best option is to book together under one reservation. Lastly, if you book separately but would like to stay together then email us and we will do our best to keep you together, although we can not make any guarantees. Does Miss Sophie’s have a guest kitchen?Yes. Miss Sophie’s guest kitchen is located in our basement lounge and is available for any guest’s use at any time. Can Miss Sophie’s fax my reservation confirmation to the Embassy so that I can apply for a visa?Yes. If you will require a letter of confirmation of your reservation with our company stamp and signature in order to apply for a visa, please allow up to 3 days time for us to prepare this document. Also, for this service, we require a non-refundable prepayment of the first 2 nights of your accommodation. Depending on the day and time, metros can be 3-9 minutes apart. Day trams also operate from 5am to midnight. From midnight to 5am, you can catch a night tram on most high-traffic tram routes. How do I arrange an airport transfer to Miss Sophie’s?Miss Sophie’s offers an airport shuttle at a great rate (1-4 people for 550 CZK total; 5-9 people for 950 CZK total). Just send us an email with the following information: Your name, Number of passengers, Arrival date and time, Airline, Flight number, Flight origin, and mobile phone number. We will confirm your request with our driver and send you a confirmation email. What do I need to know when taking a taxi in Prague?When taking a taxi in Prague, we strongly recommend phoning a reputable taxi company (such as AAA Taxi). If possible, avoid hailing a cab on the street. Before the journey, request a printed receipt and make sure the driver sets the meter to zero. And, of course, it’s always a good idea to carry small bills and be discrete with your belongings. How close is Miss Sophie’s to the main Prague attractions?We are conventiently located just 5 minutes, by foot, to Vaclavske Namesti (Wenceslas Square) and the National Museum. Old Town Square is about a 15 minute walk away or one tram stop away. From Old Town Square, the Charles Bridge is an additional 5 minute walk away. Where is the closest parking garage to Miss Sophie’s?The nearest secured parking garage is located at Ibis hotel, which is right around the corner from Miss Sophie’s. The cost for parking is 20 Euro per day. You will find the information for the hotel below. The best thing would be for you to park in front of Miss Sophie’s to drop off your things. At that time our receptionist can point out the parking garage for you. If you do not have a credit card or cannot use one to secure your reservation, we also accept advance payment in the form of bank transfers. Or, you may make a non-confirmed reservation in which you must call or email to confirm two days before your arrival. In this case, you must also arrive by 3pm or call again to reconfirm. This option is only available in certain situations, so email us and we’ll see what we can work out for you, info@miss-sophies.com. Is there Internet access at Miss Sophie’s?Yes. We offer free wi-fi in our reception lobby and basement lounge. Or, you can use our guest computers located in the reception lobby for free. There is also internet in a few select guest rooms. If you would like to have a room with internet access, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you accordingly. Is Miss Sophie’s non-smoking?Yes. We are a non-smoking establishment and smoking is only allowed outside in the garden. There is a fine if you are found to be smoking inside. Does Miss Sophie’s provide towels?Yes. For those guests staying in our shared dorm rooms, towels may be borrowed from reception for only 30 CZK. Or, for guests staying in a private room, towels are already provided. Does Miss Sophie’s offer an international phone for guests to use?Yes. Our international phone is available for our guests 24 hours a day at very competitive rates. Just ask the receptionist. Can I borrow a hairdryer, iron, alarm clock, or adapter?Yes. These items (and more) can be borrowed for free from reception. We’ll ask you to leave a deposit, but you’ll get it all back when the item is returned.
